Transfer Instructions |
The actual process of moving your domain names (DNS)
NameServers from one web
host to another involves making some changes to your domain
names records. The records that will need to be changed are
known as "Name Servers" or "DNS".
Name servers are like a unique address that is attached to
your domain name which tells all users that type in your
domain name ( i.e. their web browsers ) which company is
holding your web pages and connects them accordingly.
Most domain name companies have an online domain name
management area that allows you to modify this part of your
domain name. However if your domain name company does not
offer this online tool, then follow the instructions below
depending on who is your domain registrar
How long does it take ??
The process of changing your name servers can take up to
24-72hrs. This is the time it takes for the changes to spread
through the whole world. While we set your account up on our
end within 24hrs of signing up, you will need to wait for the
name server changes to fully filter through the internet.
Tip:
if you do not know which registry your domain name was
registered with, just look up your domain name
here, and then press the "show me WHOIS output"
button to see which company is listed in the "Registrar"
section.
You can also transfer
your Domain Name Record itself and save each year on your
Domain Name renewal fees ($12.75 per year instead of $35 year)
